DJ Tiesto (alias of Tijs Verwest) is truly the #1 DJ in the world - as he was voted by DJ Magazine, 2002. After I was unable to attend his Club Vinyl appearance here in Denver on December 7th, 2002, this Church show was a wonderful surprise. This event was part of Tiesto's record release tour for Nyana, a two disc album that features amazing tracks by artists such as Andain and Conjure One. This is the follow up album to last years hugely successful album In My Memory. In My Memory contains, in my opinion, Tiesto's absolute finest original creations on tracks such as "Close To You" and "In My Memory". Tiesto's ability to craft such masterpieces is what really sets him apart from a world full of DJ's who do nothing more than mix others' work... this talent no doubt aided Tiesto in earning his current #1 status.
Other tracks Tiesto has shocked the world with include "Suburban Train" and "Lethal Industry" (both off In My Memory), and another of my personal favorites "Endless Wave" during his involvement with Kamaya Painters. Tiesto's compositions are true to the genre -- the music is entirely capable of putting you in a trance.
